Okay, okay. So I know it’s summer and everybody is up late chilling, but my obnoxious neighbors are having a party and are so rudely playing their music loud enough that I can clearly hear what song it is all the way in my room with my music turned up on max. In my “neighborhood” everyone lives on at least 6 acres, so they really have no excuse for me being able to hear the music...

Meghan’s birthday was on Thursday. A big shout out to her. Happy birfffday Meghan! My dog Zoey is sick. Like really sick. She’s temporarily paralyzed. She’ll hopfully be better by Monday, but its a bit frightening. She’s my baby and I’d be devastated if something happened to her. My friend Blake had a party yesterday. It was so hot. I hate New Orleans heat. I do...

Katharine and I went to see What Happens In Vegas last night. It was really cute. I actually liked it a lot, but I didn’t think that I would. Today, we’re going to the new Bass Pro Shop that opened up in Baton Rouge. I don’t fish or hunt or anything of that nature, but this place is insanely huge. We just felt the need to check it out. I might get a shirt or something. I...

So I’m sitting in the emergency room at the hospital right now. My mom fell in our kitchen and hit her head, so I had to drive. I can actually study for exams now without the distractions of my insane family. All the nurses here like me because it was my dad’s hospital.

Chicago Eyes
I’m hoping to be able to make it back up to the city this summer. I just went at Christmas and its a pretty pricey trip all together (especially for a high school student), but I can’t stand to be away for too long. I’ve been feeling pretty nostalgic for it lately and I want to go. I’ve done all the touristy stuff…Sears Tower, Millenium Park, Michigan Avenue, boat...

So there’s this band called Empires. They’re really great. From Chicago. Wrote, recorded, and produced this record called HOWL all on their own. They are now giving it away for free. Its really rad. Like really. You should check out their myspace (myspace.com/empires). If you like what you hear, download the album. weareempires.com

I felt that it was time for a change. Nothing major or too drastic, but just something small, yet noticable. I’m not going to shave my head or get a huge tattoo on my forearm. I decided to take out my nose ring. I’ll probably get it repierced sooner or later, but it was just one more thing, however small, that I did not need to worry about. I’d like to get my septum done, but...

I should be studying for finals...
But instead I’m just going to give a piece of my mind. So I went to see Forever the Sickest Kids (headliner), Metro Station, The Cab, The Maine, and Danger Radio on Thursday night at the House of Blues. In my head I knew that half of the kids were there to see Metro Station and Trace Cyrus in all of his “glory,” if you will. I myself like all of those bands. They aren’t all...

So this week is definitely the busiest of my year so far. I am already stressed out and it’s only Monday. Today I had to give an oral interpretation speech in my speech class and I had to interpret a song. That was just a mess because the song wouldn’t play and I was just having a bunch of technical dificulties and I was jumbling my words and talking really fast. Tomorrow we have to do...

wedding bells
I’m not one to report on celebrity news and all that jazz, but I wanted to say congrats to Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson on their recent marriage. I’ve met both of them on multiple occasions and they are two of the sweetest, most down-to-earth people. I have a ton of respect for both of them and I wish them nothing but happiness. Congratulations you two!

Chicago Promoter's Ordinance
I am so stoked to hear that the promoter’s ordinance was pulled and was not voted on! That is an amazing thing to know that the community’s voice was heard and that the petition was taken into consideration. Since this was stopped from happening in Chicago, it can be prevented from happening in other great cities across our country. 5,742 people signed the petition and it worked. Keep...

What’s been up dudes? I haven’t been up to much at all lately. School’s getting intense and exams are a week away. Stoked for that…ha no. Green Day is playing at One Eyed Jack’s in the French Quarter as the Foxboro Hot Tubs on Tuesday. Its 18+, as expected, which blows. They are my favorite of favorites. The reason that I listen to the music that I do. I want to see...

If this is happening in Chicago, one of the most culturally rich cities in our country, could it happen in New Orleans or another great city in our country next? Chicago has probably the best music scene of any city in our country and the Chicago City Council is trying to suppress that. Much of the music that we love has come out of the Chicago music scene or had been inspired by the music coming...

Happiness is a warm gun...
A few months ago, one of my friends did something really stupid and got arrested. He got expelled from school and has to possibly go to jail. For a long time, I felt at fault for this because me and two of my other friends inadvertently revealed what him and another guy were planning on doing. I’ve talked to him many times since then, the first time being the day after my dad passed away. I...

It’s official…it is the seniors’ last week. I’m so sad to see them go. They are some of my really close friends and it’s going to be so upsetting when they are gone. Tuesday is senior chapel where they each give out sashes to their 2 favorite underclassmen and they give out their senior wills (cue the sad Vitamin C memories song). They also give out awards to...

hold your head high heavy heart
So I went to the baseball state championships last night. My school played amazingly. It was such a great game. It was the bottom of the 7th (in high school only 7 innings are played) and we were up to bat. We only needed 1 run to tie up the game. There was a man on 3rd, a man on 1st, 2 strikes, 3 balls, and 2 outs. I think it was the highest intensity game that I have ever watched. The pitcher...

Night Drive
So, since I am insane and love the baseball team so much, I am driving 4 hours (again) to Alexandria with Sarah, Amy, Cody, Zander, Emily, and our friend Madison to see them play. Its the state semifinals and I have so much faith in them. They have to win!! I want them to win state so bad! It would be totally epic.  I’m a huge sports fanatic if you couldn’t tell already. I go nuts...

So it was a 4+ hour drive to the baseball game that I went to on Saturday. We made a few stops and passed through a few places along the way. Nothing to eventful, but I got some nice pictures. Other than the interstate, everywhere we drove was like farmland. We saw this barn with 2 cropduster planes and like 4 empty 18-wheelers. That’s where I took most of the pictures.

Saawinggg battah
So I’m on the way to my school’s baseball quarterfinal game in Monroe with Emily, Amy, Chris, Maddi, and our friend Jenni. Its a four hour drive. We were already 30 minutes out and my friend Sarah called me and informed me that the game got pushed back 2 hours. So we are going to be chilling in Monroe for two hours with nothing to do. I’ve never been there so I have no idea what...
