Hurricane Journal Two: The Evacuees
August 31, 2008 11:02am So we are definitely not evacuating now unless they call for a mandatory evacuation of North of I-12. They called a mandatory evacuation of South of I-12 last night, so I don’t know what they’re going to do for us. We have two families coming to stay with us- Zander’s family and Taylor’s family. So we have 12 people staying in my house. I’m so...

Hurricane Journal One: Calm Before the Storm
August 30, 2008 12:41pm So we aren’t evacuating. Beautiful. All of my friends are going to Destin or Fort Walton, but my mom thinks that the storm could move more East and it would be dangerous. But the way it’s going now Covington doesn’t look too safe, either. Regardless of whether or not she wants to go to Destin now, she already cancelled our reservations at the condo. We...

“I looked out the window of the taxi on the drive into New Orleans and remarked ‘There’s still so much devastation - I can’t believe they haven’t cleaned this mess up’ to which the driver stared at me and said ‘This part of the city wasn’t affected by the hurricane - its always looked like this.’ ” - Banksy
Check out his new paintings in New Orleans.
So this really...
I cannot believe that the Olympics are nearly over! Gymnastics and swimming are over and I am terribly sad. Who watched gymnastics the other night?! Girls beam and guys high bar. Shawn Johnson got gold on beam! She so deserved it! And Nastia got silver! I was so stoked that Jonathan Horton got silver on high bar!! I love him! hahaha
So my friend Megan called me the other day and invited me to...
I was totally and completely stunned when the Romanian girl beat out Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin for the gold medal. I mean, I was shocked that when it came to the last girl Shawn had the gold over Nastia, but I was happy. I was glad that the two American’s were going to place gold and silver in floor, but then I couldn’t believe that the Romanian girl came along and stole the gold...
My mom is in school getting her master’s degree. It’s in secondary education and right now she is writing a paper on standardized education, for example the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. I think it’s a good thing because so many states, such as Louisiana, have a public education program where the standard of leaning is very low. I think that the federal government should set...
I preordered The Academy Is…’s new album. The first 500 preorders received a picture from the video shoot. Each picture is different and all signed on the back. I got mine in the mail today. I guess the stacked the pictures on top of each other as they signed them because that’s sharpie on William’s arm. He’s a bit overexposed, but it’s still a great picture....
I wrote this a few days ago and posted it on my myspace. I have been glued to the Olympics and I think this describes my feelings for them:
I’ve been watching the Olympics like crazy. Swimming, beach volleyball, and gymnastics are my favorite. I wasn’t really all that excited for the Olympics, but as soon as I started watching them I was glued. I wish that I could say something about...
I’m beginning to realize that the relief I feel from gaining someone’s approval...

I had a hair appointment today and my stylist and I always have great conversations. Well she’s an awesome hair stylist and we always talk about the show Sheer Genius on Bravo. I don’t really watch the show, so I’m not too familiar with it, but it’s one of her favorites. She told me earlier that she wants to go on the next season of the show. I think that it’s...
US MEN’S GYMNASTICS JUST WON BRONZE!!
I love how Jonathan Horton goes, “Hey everyone back home! That’s how we do!” And then some guy out of no where goes, “That’s how we roll!”
The Olympics are truly addicting. I ran a few errands today, but other than that all I’ve been doing is watching the Olympics. I’ve been trying to get my paper finished, but I cannot even get through one paragraph without looking up at the television to watch Michael Phelps swim or to watch Justin Spring do gymnastics. I watched the US women’s beach volleyball against Cuba...
Lots has been going on lately. I went to the Final Riot! Tour on Wednesday night. All the bands were awesome. Emily and I had early entry, so we were on the barricade all night. It was so surreal actually seeing Paramore after wanting to see them for three years. It was a great experience.
I had surgery on my mouth Thursday morning. I had to get my wisdom teeth taken out, but my bottom ones were...
So Paramore’s management finally emailed me back about the photo pass. I didn’t get it. They were really nice about it, but apparently they’ve gotten tons of requests for this tour so they weren’t able to give me one. But its okay. There’s always next time.
High Expectations
I just bought the new Jack’s Mannequin EP, The Ghost Overground. I heard “The Resolution” the other day and I loved it, so I have really high expectations for this album. The EP will hold me over until “The Glass Passenger” comes out.
Remember in my last post how I said that I have exhausted every resource I have of getting a photo pass for Paramore? Well it paid off! Sort of…
I got an email earlier from Red Mountain Entertainment. I was originally told to contact them about the photo pass, but I received no response when I first emailed them. So I tried to contact them again last night and they emailed back! The girl...
I hope I’m not getting sick again. For the past 3 nights I’ve felt like I’ve had fever. I did not feel well at all today. It would suck to get sick right before Paramore and school starting.
So I think I have exhausted every possible way that I know of trying to get a photo pass for Paramore. Maybe some of my most recent attempts from tonight will work out.
It’s raining pretty bad outside right now. I’m glad I had nothing to do today. A new Simple Plan came on my iTunes and I thought that it was Backstreet Boys. hah
I emailed Sire Records about getting a photo pass for the Jack’s Mannequin show on August 6. Hopefully they’ll get back to me soon. We’ll see.
